Yeppoon Little Theatre Inc, “The Showplace”, 64 William Street, Yeppoon 4703
Yeppoon Little Theatre Inc has been established as an amateur theatrical company for forty years. It has been an incorporated association since the 21st September, 1994.
In 1991 the group took up residence at their current performance venue of “The Showplace” 64 William Street, Yeppoon, a part of the Yeppoon Showgrounds complex.
Membership of Yeppoon Little Theatre Inc is open to everyone at a cost of $15.00 for adults and $10.00 students. Meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 7.30pm at “The Showplace” and the AGM is held in November.
The yearly performance program includes productions in April and July with a theatre restaurant staged in November. Casting nights are advertised locally and are open to all.
In 2001, Yeppoon Little Theatre Inc with sponsorship from The Livingstone Shire Council, successfully staged “The Legend of King O’Malley” as part of the Centenary of Federation Celebrations. This play was toured throughout the Shire, performing at venues in Yeppoon, Byfield, Emu Park, The Caves, Marlborough and Cawarral to large audiences.
Workshops with professional directors are held on a regular basis for members to hone their skills and achieve higher levels of success.
With growing audience numbers and funding from State and local government, the Yeppoon Little Theatre has been able to implement a program of improvements to “The Showplace”. The venue is now fully air conditioned with new interior painting. Work is currently being carried out on updating the kitchen, with plans for an adjoining shed to house furniture and props. Our thanks to local state member Paul Hoolihan, for his assistance in gaining funding for the air-conditioning and to Livingstone Shire Council for support through Regional Arts Development Funding and Community Grants Program.
Yeppoon Little Theatre is a dynamic, vibrant amateur theatre group, whose primary objective is to offer quality entertainment to the citizens of the Capricorn Coast. Our group is open to everyone with an interest in theatre, either on stage or working behind the scenes. We invite your participation.
